Vote!

0

Remember to get out and vote today. I going to vote for my cat Gandalf for president. He is much more qualified than either of the leading losers, and is much softer and cuter. That should be good enough for you too, although I’m willing to accept that you’ll want to vote for your cat. So go out and vote. Elect your cat for president. Meow.

<rant> Why can’t Microsoft’s SQL Server provide more helpful or useful error messages? Here’s the one I’m fighting now: “Error converting data type varchar to numeric.” This on an update of a quite large dataset where I’m doing three casts. One of the casts is failing. I don’t even get which one. WHY can’t the bloody thing at least tell me WHAT value it can’t convert so I can figure out where it is coming from? With all the money that Microsoft has, they can’t write code that generates helpful error messages? This has cost me two hours so far. I hate their SQL Server. HATE IT. AHHHHHHHHH!!! </rant> This rant has been brought to you by the letter D. Thank you, and good night.
